37 hours per week (5 days)

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic solicitor to join our busy Housing and Litigation Team to deal with a varied caseload of prosecutions, litigation and enforcement matters.

The role will predominantly entail providing internal advice to prosecutions, licensing and regulatory teams; preparing casework for submission at, and conducting cases in, Civil and Criminal Courts to include fraud, landlord, environmental regulatory and food hygiene prosecutions, taxi licensing and enforcement; and advising in respect of licensing and related matters.

You will need to be a confident advocate who can work to strict and often conflicting deadlines.

Recent experience of prosecutions or criminal advocacy in any capacity, whether gained in a local authority or private practice, would be preferable. Applicants undertaking similar work or who are newly qualified with relevant experience would also be welcome.

DescriptionWe currently have a vacancy for a full time legal assistant/ paralegal to work as part of our family law/ private client team at our Gosforth office. Previous experience of working in a family law/ private client related role would be a requirement. An ideal candidate would be a good communicator with an ability to work on their own initiative. You may be required to attend all three of our offices as required and as such a clean driving licence helpful but not vital. Training will be provided where appropriate.

DescriptionWe have a vacancy for a full time Banking Solicitor (0 – 4 years PQE approx) to work within our banking team.
Suitable applicants will be high calibre candidates who have excellent academics as well as banking and finance experience from a leading practice. This is a new role for this growing team who are advisers to a range of lenders and borrowers. The successful candidate would work closely with the partners in the banking team and would be involved in marketing and business development. Requirements
If you are already qualified, you will currently specialise in Banking or a specialist Finance role and have some experience in banking law to include acquisition finance for MBO/MBIs, acting for lenders and borrowers, corporate banking, asset finance, security and priority issues and syndicated financing structures.
Newly-qualified lawyers must have undertaken a seat in either Banking law or in a Finance-related area of law and have a genuine desire to specialise in Banking.
Good communication and IT skills are essential as is managing expectations across a wide range of competing needs. Attention to detail, a good work ethic and a willingness to cover a variety of tasks and work outside core hours on occasion will be necessary. Candidates must be professional, with an excellent telephone manner and be confident in dealing with clients, as well as interacting with other members of the department.
